What is ASTA?

The Australasian Sleep Technologist Association is an organisation representing professionals working in the fields of sleep medicine or sleep research. Most of our members reside in Australia and New Zealand with some members working abroad.

What are the objectives of ASTA?

  • To encourage communication among individuals working in the fields of sleep medicine and sleep research.
  • To encourage research via the Annual Scientific Meeting and by regional meetings
  • To address educational issues critical to the growth and development of sleep medicine and sleep research
  • To affiliate with allied groups such as the ASA (Australasian Sleep Association) and the AAST (American Association of Sleep Technologists)

Who can become a member of ASTA?

Scientists, Technologists, Nurses, Physicians, Reseachers and company representatives working in the fields of sleep medicine and sleep research. ASTA accepts new members on nomination by two current financial members of the association. Membership application forms are available in the ASTA Newsletter, or from ASTA Executive (see contacts) or it can be downloaded from this site. Membership is valid for a financial year.

When does ASTA hold conferences?

A national conference in held every year in association with ASA. ASTA members receive notification and discounted registration fees. If you have any other questions please contact us.
